‘It Is Very Okay To Be Financially Heartless To Your Family And Friends’ – Skitmaker Zicsaloma

Nigerian Skitmaker Advocates for Financial Boundaries
Isaac Aloma, widely known as Zicsaloma, is urging individuals to establish strict financial boundaries in their pursuit of financial freedom and savings. The Nigerian skitmaker shared his views on financial independence in a recent video posted to his Instagram account.
Zicsaloma expressed that his journey toward financial independence was significantly hindered by the entitled attitudes of family members. He emphasized the necessity of prioritizing personal financial goals, even if that means being perceived as unsupportive by friends and family.
“I engaged in numerous business ventures while growing up, but many failed due to family obligations. In African culture, family often feels entitled to your wealth, even when the aim of working is to save for a better future,” he said.
He added, “It is entirely acceptable to exercise financial discipline, even towards close relations, in order to save and break negative cycles. They may resent you for it, but ultimately, it is in your best interest.”
In a separate development, Zicsaloma recently disclosed that purchasing a luxury Range Rover Sport stands as his worst financial decision. He made these comments during an interview with Pulse.
The skitmaker purchased the vehicle for more than ₦30 million, drawn by the allure of owning a premium automobile in Nigeria. However, the initial excitement faded quickly due to ongoing mechanical issues. He estimated that he spent nearly ₦10 million on repairs within just three to four months, yet the problems persisted.
Ultimately, Zicsaloma found himself compelled to sell the vehicle at a significant loss, highlighting the financial challenges tied to luxury purchases.
