Nasarawa NSCDC Arrests Two in Vehicle Theft Case
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Nasarawa State has apprehended two individuals on charges related to vehicle theft and the attempted disposal of a stolen vehicle.
The suspects, identified as 68-year-old Adamu Mohammed and 32-year-old Emmanuel Omaku, were taken into custody on August 21, 2026, at a mechanic workshop located on Secretariat Road in the Lafia North Development Area.
According to an NSCDC statement, operatives acted on reliable intelligence that led to the suspects’ interception while they were allegedly attempting to sell the stolen vehicle.
Items recovered during the operation include a 2010 Toyota Camry, also known as Camry Muscle, and two vehicle registration plates—one from Abuja and the other from Nasarawa. Additional confiscated items included a Moniepoint ATM card, a cutlass, and ₦169,500 in cash.
State Commandant Brah Samson Umoru announced that a comprehensive investigation is underway to ascertain the vehicle’s ownership and source, as well as to determine the involvement of others connected to the case.
“We are determined to identify, arrest, and dismantle criminal networks involved in vehicle theft, robbery, and other forms of criminal activity across Nasarawa State,” said Umoru.
He urged the public to provide security agencies with credible and timely information, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital for effective crime prevention.
The NSCDC noted that efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend additional suspected members of the alleged criminal gang who are still at large. The suspects, along with any individuals found culpable, will face prosecution following the conclusion of the investigation.
