NPFL: Kwara United warn supporters against violence ahead season opener

Kwara United is urging its fans to show support ahead of their inaugural match in the 2026-27 Nigeria Premier Football League season. The club will face Kano Pillars at Rashidi Yekini Stadium in Ilorin on Sunday, August 30.

In a statement, Kwara United called on supporters to attend the game and create a positive atmosphere. The club emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and urged fans to avoid violence, confrontations, or any behavior that could lead to sanctions against the team.

“We appeal to our supporters to come out in large numbers, watch the games, and be the 13th player on the pitch,” Kwara United stated. “Your support is vital to the progress of the team.”

The club also encouraged fans to remain peaceful, even during challenging moments in the game. “We must avoid actions that could lead to ugly incidents, sanctions, or stadium bans, which could deprive the team of valuable support,” the statement added.

Kwara United expressed its hope that the collective focus of fans would be on supporting the players as they strive for a successful season and aim to compete for the league title.
