Patrice Evra Calls for Manchester United to Secure New Left-Back
Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has urged the club to consider signing a new left-back, asserting that Luke Shaw’s tenure at Old Trafford may be coming to an end.
Evra shared his views during a recent broadcast of his Kick Stream program, just days before Manchester United’s Premier League matchup against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
“I have to tell the truth,” Evra said. “Manchester United fans want to hear my opinion, and I think Luke Shaw’s time has gone. Don’t get me wrong; I love Luke Shaw, but I love Man United even more, which is why I’m saying they need another left-back.”
He went on to express concerns about current squad options, indicating that Patrick Dorgu, a player who can operate in an attacking role, is not suited to the left-back position. “Patrick Dorgu is not a left-back; he’s a left-winger,” Evra explained.
As the team prepares for the upcoming match, Evra’s comments add to the ongoing discussion about the squad’s composition and future needs.
