“What will you gain” — Gehgeh blasts Mavo for exposing Shallipopi’s financial struggle

Nigerian Commentator Critiques Mavo’s Disclosure of Shallipopi’s Financial Struggles
Nigerian financial commentator Gehgeh has publicly criticized content creator Mavo for allegedly disclosing singer Shallipopi’s financial difficulties. Gehgeh questioned the motives behind Mavo’s decision to make this personal information known, suggesting it reflects poorly on their relationship.
The commentary arose in response to a reported private conversation between Mavo and Shallipopi that has sparked significant controversy. “Mavo, you’re a bad person. Shallipopi is like a brother to you; what would you gain from letting the streets know he’s broke?” Gehgeh remarked.
He described Mavo’s actions as a betrayal, arguing that discussing Shallipopi’s financial situation was inappropriate for someone whom he considers close. Gehgeh also urged Shallipopi to forgive Mavo, pointing out that the singer played a crucial role in Mavo’s rise within the music industry.
“Shallipopi, forgive Mavo; he doesn’t know it’s with your music pattern that he blew up,” he said.
Moreover, Gehgeh advised individuals to exercise caution when sharing personal financial difficulties, warning that conversations can sometimes be leaked and lead to public scrutiny. He stressed that revealing another person’s financial struggles can undermine trust within friendships or familial relationships.
