Transfer: Manchester City make strong push for Echegini

Manchester City is ramping up its pursuit of Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Women’s Super League champions having had multiple offers for the Nigerian international turned down.
Tom Garry, a women’s football writer for The Guardian, reports that Manchester City is committed to finalizing the transfer before the WSL transfer window closes tonight.
PSG appears hesitant to part with the 25-year-old Echegini, who has one year remaining on her current contract. Since joining the Parisian club in 2024, she has become a key player.
Echegini has experience in English football, having developed her early career with Charlton Athletic, Millwall, and Arsenal. Prior to her tenure at PSG, she had a successful season with Juventus, where she scored 10 goals in 16 appearances.
