Real Madrid’s Asencio acquitted in sex video case as Mourinho opens disciplinary proceeding

Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio was acquitted on Thursday of charges related to the unauthorized sharing of a sexually explicit video.

The court’s decision came after the two women featured in the video testified that they had forgiven Asencio and his former teammates, Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez, and Andres Garcia, who were also implicated in the case, according to Marca.

Following the ruling, Asencio took to Instagram to express his relief, stating that he had endured “difficult moments” throughout the legal process. The 23-year-old thanked Real Madrid and those who supported him during this challenging time.

Despite the acquittal, Asencio’s future with the Real Madrid squad remains uncertain. Manager Jose Mourinho announced on Thursday that the club has initiated a disciplinary process against Asencio due to a driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.

Asencio has not participated in any matches this season because of a muscle injury.
