Remo APC seals Senate ticket deal for Abiodun ahead of 2027

Leaders of Ogun APC Endorse Governor Abiodun for Senate in 2027
The All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in the Remo Division of Ogun East Senatorial District have officially endorsed Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun as their candidate for the Senate in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The endorsement occurred during a meeting on Tuesday, attended by key stakeholders from the division. Party leaders urged Abiodun to run for the Ogun East Senatorial seat.
Chief Muri Awolaja, a senior party member from Sagamu Local Government Area, proposed the motion, praising Abiodun as an accomplished leader and a dedicated representative of both Remoland and Ogun East. The motion received support from former Remo North Local Government Chairman Dapo Odunsi.
Council chairmen from the region, including Hon. Muyiwa Sodade of Remo North and Hon. Jamiu Asimi of Ikenne, echoed the call for Abiodun to consider the bid. “As representatives of the grassroots, we can assure you that the people of Remoland and Ogun East are eager for you to represent them in the Senate starting in 2027. This reflects our gratitude for your exemplary service as governor,” Asimi stated.
The formal endorsement was announced by Chief Kola Ogunjobi, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who was joined by influential APC members, including Ogun East APC Chairman Chief Adeleke Adedoyin and other notable local leaders.
Ogunjobi explained that the decision followed extensive discussions regarding the party’s status and an evaluation of the Abiodun administration. He praised the governor’s leadership and highlighted significant achievements, including the construction of over 1,600 kilometers of roads, the completion of the Gateway International Airport, and reforms that have attracted a majority of new manufacturing firms to Ogun State.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun’s track record of governance and development speaks volumes. Bringing him home to represent Ogun East will yield even greater benefits for Remoland and the entire district,” Ogunjobi said.
Officials from the three local government areas, including chairmen, deputy chairmen, and secretaries, attended the meeting and pledged their commitment to mobilize grassroots support to secure victory if the governor announces his candidacy.
The leaders expressed pride in Abiodun’s accomplishments and resolved to lead efforts for his nomination as the APC candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District in 2027.
