EPL: Fulham ready to hand Bassey new deal
Fulham FC is reportedly pursuing a contract extension for defender Calvin Bassey, according to the latest information from DAILY POST.
Bassey, who is part of Nigeria’s national team, has one year remaining on his current contract with the club. Fulham holds the option to trigger a one-year extension that could keep him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2028.
Sources from TEAMtalk indicate that the club is preparing to offer the 26-year-old a new long-term contract intended to solidify his future with the team. Bassey has gained recognition as one of the top defenders in the Premier League.
The versatile player joined Fulham from Ajax in July 2023 and quickly made an impact. He was named the club’s Player of the Season for the 2024-25 campaign and has started all three Premier League matches under new manager Álvaro Arbeloa this season. Since his arrival, Bassey has made a total of 105 appearances across all competitions for the team.
