Ballon d’Or 2026: Marquinhos speaks on PSG teammate winning award

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) captain Marquinhos expressed his hope that one of his teammates will claim this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The Brazil international is among the PSG players nominated for the prestigious individual award. He is joined by teammates Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, João Neves, Fabián Ruiz, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Willian Pacho, Ousmane Dembélé, and Ferran Torres. The inclusion of Torres brings the club’s total to a record 10 players on the 30-man shortlist.
“I hope that it will be someone from PSG,” Marquinhos said during a press conference, as reported by Get French Football News. “We have very good players. I can’t pick out one. It is an individual award. We won important titles.”
In the 2025–26 season, PSG secured the Ligue 1 title and their second consecutive UEFA Champions League championship.
