42-year-old farmer nabbed for raping minor in Ogun


The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly referred to as the So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 42-year-old farmer, Ganiu Agbajo, in connection with the alleged defilement of a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area.

The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of the Corps, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the statement, the Corps received a distress call from community members on September 7, 2026, after the victim reportedly cried out while returning home. An eyewitness indicated that the girl’s mother questioned her about the incident, during which the child claimed that she had been raped.

Following the alarm raised by the mother, local residents contacted the Corps to report the incident.

In response to the report, Corps operatives apprehended Agbajo at his residence in Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia. Preliminary interrogations revealed that he confessed to the crime, stating that the incident took place on his farmland located in Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.

Commander Ganzallo praised the community for their swift response and urged the public to report any unlawful or suspicious behavior to the agency for proper action. The suspect has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
