Kano man cuts off own finger after alleged N80m offer

A young man in Kano State has reportedly severed one of his own fingers after allegedly being offered 80 million naira for a living person’s body part.

The incident was detailed by the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command in a series of posts on Facebook on Wednesday. The spokesperson stated that the individual approached a police station to file a complaint, claiming that someone had made the lucrative offer for a human finger.

According to the man, after failing to find anyone else willing to provide the finger, he resorted to using a knife to cut off his own finger and delivered it to the individual who had made the offer. He later returned to the police, stating that the promised payment of 80 million naira had not been fulfilled.

In response to the complaint, authorities arrested the person who allegedly requested the finger. This suspect is currently being held at the Kano State Police Command headquarters in Bompai. During questioning, the suspect claimed that he had not sought a human finger but intended to request a bone from the forearm of a living person.

The police have recovered the severed finger and are conducting an investigation into the unusual circumstances surrounding this incident.
