Osimhen: Galatasaray questioned for not signing new striker
Burhan Can Terzi, a noted Turkish football transfer specialist, has criticized the management of Galatasaray for failing to acquire a new striker during the summer transfer window.
Terzi’s comments came in the wake of an injury to striker Victor Osimhen, who sustained a groin injury during Galatasaray’s recent victory over İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. Earlier this summer, Galatasaray made several signings, including Rafael Leão, Aleksey Batrakov, Deniz Gül, and Lesley Ugochukwu. However, they did not secure a prominent striker capable of challenging Osimhen for a starting role.
“Osimhen’s not here [today]. Why didn’t you bring in your striker back in June? From June to September, the Galatasaray management left Okan Buruk without a striker,” Terzi stated, as reported by Forza Cimbom.
Osimhen is not expected to participate in Galatasaray’s upcoming match against Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday due to his injury. He also missed the team’s recent defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League earlier this week.
