Isaac Aloma, widely known as Zicsaloma, has opened up about the challenges he faced in achieving financial independence, attributing part of the struggle to his family’s entitled expectations.
In a recent video broadcast, Aloma emphasized the importance of establishing firm financial boundaries. He argued that to attain true financial freedom, individuals may need to adopt a self-centered approach, even towards friends and family.
“I engaged in numerous business ventures during my youth, but many failed due to family pressures,” Aloma said. “Within African families, there is often a sense of entitlement when it comes to one’s wealth. The goal of working hard is to save money and secure a better future.”
Aloma further stated, “It is perfectly acceptable to be financially cautious, even with loved ones, to save for oneself and break free from this cycle. Some may resent you for it, but ultimately, it is beneficial for your own well-being.”
