WAFU B U-17 Cup offers Flamingos crucial World Cup preparation – Busari

Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari has emphasized the significance of the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup as crucial preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2026.
Nigeria’s campaign in the regional tournament will commence against Niger Republic on Wednesday afternoon. The match is set to kick off at 3 p.m. Nigerian time at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro.
Busari expressed his intention to utilize the competition to gauge his team’s readiness for the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Morocco next month. “This is a preparatory stage for us. We are preparing for the World Cup,” he said during a media briefing.
He added, “We want to perform at a high level and become familiar with the pressures and key aspects of this type of competition.”
