Peter Obi vows life imprisonment for hard drug importers if elected president

Peter Obi Promises Life Sentence for Hard Drug Importers if Elected President in 2027

Kaduna, Nigeria – Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), announced during a town hall meeting on Saturday that he would implement a life sentence for anyone found importing hard drugs into Nigeria, regardless of their status.

Speaking to party members and supporters in Kaduna State, Obi emphasized the devastating impact of drug abuse on Nigerian youth. “If I assume office as President of Nigeria, anybody importing hard drugs will face a life sentence. Our youths have died a lot because of hard drugs,” he stated.

Obi also urged candidates from other political parties to refrain from making unrealistic campaign promises that may not be achievable if elected. He called on all political parties to engage directly with the challenges facing Nigerians.

Additionally, Obi pledged that if elected, he would spend his annual holidays in Nigeria instead of traveling abroad. He stressed the importance of staying connected with the populace, particularly visiting areas affected by insecurity and other pressing issues.
