NPFL: Buter disappointed with Sporting Lagos’ defeat to Abia Warriors
Sporting Lagos technical adviser Jeffery Buter expressed disappointment following his team’s 2-0 defeat to Abia Warriors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan on Sunday.
Goals from Ikoi Etta and Chukwumeka Obioma secured the win for Abia Warriors. In his post-match interview, Buter acknowledged that his team’s urgency to score led to errors during the tightly contested match.
“It is always disappointing to lose, especially in front of the home fans,” Buter said. “I think we had a good game, but we perhaps made some mistakes with our substitutions. We were trying to push forward and find goals.”
Buter noted that two critical errors resulted in counterattacks that led to the Warriors’ goals, calling it a regrettable outcome for his team.
Sporting Lagos will next face Enyimba in Aba, where they will look to rebound from this defeat.
