Turkey: Orban overtakes Osimhen in Super Lig goals race
Gift Orban has tied for the lead in scoring in the Turkish Super Lig after netting a goal in Amedspor’s 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş on Sunday. The Nigerian international also contributed an assist in the closely contested match.
With this performance, Orban has amassed seven goals and two assists in the current Turkish top-flight season. He shares the scoring lead with Trabzonspor winger Mohamed Salah, who has also recorded seven goals.
Orban’s compatriot, Victor Osimhen, plays for Galatasaray and has scored six goals while providing two assists this season.
In Sunday’s match, Orban opened the scoring for Amedspor just 13 minutes in and later assisted on the team’s second goal, which came in the 22nd minute.
