Oyo State Police Arrest Two Individuals for Criminal Activities
Saki, Oyo State – The Oyo State Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals suspected of engaging in separate criminal activities.
In a press statement released by Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, a 17-year-old male was apprehended for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in Saki, located in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone. Following the incident, the victim was taken to a local medical facility for treatment and is currently receiving comprehensive clinical and psychotherapeutic care.
In a separate case, a 21-year-old man was arrested for his involvement in the vandalization and theft of house-wiring cables valued at approximately 2.69 million naira in Ogbomoso. The arrest occurred around 5:30 a.m. on September 21, 2026, by the Monitoring Unit operatives of the Ogbomoso Base during an anti-crime patrol along Bosunla Street.
According to Ayanlade, the suspect was found in possession of a sack filled with cables believed to have been stolen from a building under construction. Police operatives subsequently visited the site of the crime and contacted the property owner, Salaudeen Rasaq. Upon assessment, Rasaq estimated the value of the stolen cables at 2.69 million naira.
The police command continues to investigate both cases.
