Super Eagles Player Bright Osayi-Samuel Withdraws from Friendly Match Against Russia
Bright Osayi-Samuel has withdrawn from the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, ahead of their friendly match against Russia scheduled for October 6. His departure follows that of captain Wilfred Ndidi, who also announced his absence from the match earlier.
Additionally, FC Basel defender Akpe Victory will not participate due to injury. In their stead, John Oromewo and Vince Osuji have been called up as replacements.
The Super Eagles arrived in Moscow on Friday for the international friendly. This match follows their previous encounter with Russia, which ended in a 1-1 draw in June 2025, marking their first meeting at the senior international level.
