12-year-old girl rescued from rape in tinted vehicle 3-month pregnant – Police

The Federal Capital Territory Police have reported the rescue of a 12-year-old girl who was assaulted by 28-year-old Zayyanu Halilu near the Airport Bridge Taxi Park. Authorities confirmed that the victim is approximately three months pregnant following the incident.

In a statement issued Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh detailed the events leading to the arrest. On October 2, officers from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit were conducting routine patrols in the area when they noticed a suspiciously parked navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with the registration number KMC567LQ. The officers observed that the vehicle was vibrating and suspected illicit activity.

The officers approached the vehicle and discovered Halilu in the act of assaulting the minor. Following this finding, the suspect was immediately apprehended, and the victim was rescued.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Halilu had previously lured and sexually abused the victim multiple times in the same vehicle, making threats to harm her if she disclosed the incidents to anyone.

Medical examinations confirmed the victim’s pregnancy and indicated that she is currently receiving necessary medical care. Halilu remains in police custody and is expected to face charges upon the completion of ongoing investigations.
