Atiku predicts revolution in Nigeria

Former Vice President Warns of Potential Unrest Amid Alleged Human Rights Violations

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a warning regarding the possibility of widespread unrest in Nigeria, citing increased tensions following alleged human rights violations.

Atiku made his comments during a solidarity visit on Thursday night to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. El-Rufai recently confronted security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja upon his return from Cairo, Egypt.

Reports indicate that operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized El-Rufai’s international passport and attempted to detain him upon arrival.

During the visit, Atiku emphasized that the resistance from individuals at the airport should serve as a lesson for authorities. “I hope they will learn from what they saw at the airport, because it was people on their own who resisted the arrest,” he said.

Atiku added, “What they don’t understand is that there could be a revolution in this country because people will no longer accept the violation of their human rights.” He characterized the incident at the airport as “absolutely uncalled for.”
