I have withdrawn my support for APC aspirants – ‘Tinubu Must Go’ coordinator Hikima

Human Rights Activist Withdraws Support for APC Aspirants
Abba Hikima, a prominent human rights activist and national coordinator of the Tinubu Must Go movement, has announced the withdrawal of his support for certain aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hikima accused these individuals of celebrating alleged oppression and supporting oppressive leadership.
In a statement released on his Facebook page Monday, Hikima cited the aspirants’ responses to ongoing issues of public mistreatment as the catalyst for his decision. “I hereby announce the withdrawal of all the support I had planned to give to some APC aspirants,” he wrote. “This follows the happiness I noticed in them over the oppression of people from above and their support for oppressors.”
Hikima emphasized that those who align themselves with oppressive leaders should be held accountable. “Anyone who supports oppressive leaders in a community is an oppressor and our enemy,” he stated.
Previously, Hikima had expressed support for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, despite being associated with the APC, raising questions about his political affiliations. His latest announcement, however, indicates a clear shift in stance regarding certain APC candidates, although he did not specify which individuals were affected.
The announcement comes amid tensions between the Tinubu Must Go movement and the Kano State Police Command. The group has claimed that police interference prevented a planned gathering in Kano, while police officials have denied these allegations, asserting that their presence was meant to ensure the safety of participants.
