Yobe approves new salary structure for Head of Service, permanent secretaries
YOBE STATE, Nigeria — The Yobe State Government has approved a new salary structure for top officials, including the Head of Service, permanent secretaries, auditors-general, and the Accountant-General.
The Office of the Head of Service, led by Abdullahi Musa Shehu, announced the changes in a statement released on Saturday. Under the new structure, the Head of Service will receive a monthly salary of 1,430,830.75 Naira, while each permanent secretary will earn 1,203,851.55 Naira.
Additionally, the Auditor-General for the state, the Auditor-General for local governments, and the Accountant-General will each have a monthly salary of 1,114,666.36 Naira.
Shehu urged the affected officials and other civil servants to demonstrate greater dedication and commitment in their roles as a response to the salary adjustments. He also highlighted that the state government has introduced various welfare packages for civil servants and is planning further initiatives aimed at enhancing their well-being and strengthening the public service.
