2027: Kano governor assures Tinubu of northern support

KANO, Nigeria — Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has pledged the support of Northern Nigeria for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The governor made the announcement in a statement released Sunday in Abuja by his Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Tofa. Yusuf emphasized the confidence that the North has in Tinubu and reaffirmed the region’s dedication to his bid for a second term.

In his statement, Yusuf highlighted the recent inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office in Abuja as a clear indication of the North’s commitment to supporting the President’s re-election campaign. He noted that the A4A movement aims to galvanize support across Northern states and enhance political engagement as the elections approach.

Yusuf also pointed out that Kano, which he described as the largest vote-producing state in the North, would spearhead efforts to ensure high voter turnout in favor of Tinubu. He expressed confidence that Kano would play a pivotal role in securing a victory for the President.

The A4A movement, led by former Minister of Defence Badaru Abubakar, intends to highlight Tinubu’s achievements while rallying support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in the 2027 elections.
