NPFL: Buter reveals winning formula behind Sporting Lagos’ victory at Plateau United
Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter attributed the team’s 3-2 away victory over Plateau United to a strategic adjustment during the match.
The team, known as the Tech Boys, demonstrated resilience during their contest at New Jos Stadium on Sunday. This latest win marks their third away victory of the season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
“We switched our press to a 4-5-1 setup, which restricted their wingers and fullbacks from having time and space,” Buter said in a post-match interview. “I believe we played a very strong second half. We dominated the match, found an early equalizer, and ultimately secured the win.”
With this victory, Sporting Lagos has moved within two points of league leaders Rivers United and reigning champions Rangers International, who currently sit in second place on the league table.
