NPFL: Rivers United ready to dethrone Rangers – Olanrewaju

The Rivers United Football Club remains at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League standings following a 0-0 draw against Barau FC during a Matchday 9 encounter in Port Harcourt on Monday. The club, managed by Finidi George, is the only team in the league this season that has yet to lose a match.
Olanrewaju, a player for Rivers United, emphasized the team’s commitment to maintaining its strong performance this season. “We are prepared; this is Rivers United. The pressure is on us to do well this season, more than we did last season,” he stated in an interview with the club’s media.
He noted that while the unbeaten record is a positive aspect, the main focus for the team is accumulating points. “For us, we are not even looking at the unbeaten run; it doesn’t really matter. We just want to get as many points as possible,” he said. “The key thing for us is not to concede. If you don’t concede, you can’t lose a game. That’s our philosophy.”
Looking ahead, Rivers United will face Bendel Insurance in a South South derby on Sunday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
