Troops Neutralize Six ISWAP Suspects in Borno State Ambush
KAGA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, Borno State — Forces from the 29 Task Force Brigade, in coordination with hybrid military units, have neutralized six suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an ambush. The operation took place early Sunday morning, October 25, at approximately 12:37 a.m. along the Targejeri axis, following intelligence reports on terrorist movements in the region.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops strategically positioned themselves along a suspected route used by the insurgents. During the confrontation, they successfully engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of six suspects.
Along with the suspects, military personnel recovered several items, including one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, and 169 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Additional recovered items included two Android smartphones from Infinix and Redmi brands, three feature phones, and various charms.
The operation reflects ongoing efforts by security forces to counteract insurgent activities in the region.
