‘Filled with content creators’ — Bwala disparages NDC campaign council list

Daniel Bwala, an aide to President Bola Tinubu, has criticized the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the composition of its National Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general elections, calling the roster “filled with content creators.”

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after the NDC unveiled the council on Sunday, Bwala accused the party of obscuring the identities of its media representatives in mainstream media. He remarked, “@PeterObi and NDC have released their list of campaign council members; and as expected it is filled with content creators. They stylishly refused to name their campaign media surrogates in the mainstream media masquerading as OAP.”

The NDC had earlier revealed the formation of its National Campaign Council, which will coordinate campaign activities nationwide and galvanize support for party candidates ahead of the 2027 elections. According to the announcement, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson will chair the council, while the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will serve as co-chairman.

Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, the NDC’s National Chairman, was appointed vice-chairman, alongside co-vice-chairman, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s vice-presidential candidate. Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu will act as the council secretary, while Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim has been named director-general.

The NDC emphasized that the council would provide “strategic leadership” and spearhead a nationwide mobilization effort to promote its vision of “a new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.” The party expressed its commitment to a “people-centred and issue-based campaign,” urging members, supporters, and the broader public to maintain unity as the elections approach.

Bwala’s comments reflect ongoing preparations by political parties as they finalize their organizational structures and mobilization strategies for the upcoming elections.
