Visit attacked communities – Nyameh tells Kefas

Accord Party Candidate Calls for Increased Security in Taraba Following Deadly Attacks
JALINGO, Taraba State — Professor Jerome Nyameh, the governorship candidate for the Accord Party in Taraba State, has urged security agencies to enhance their protective measures for vulnerable communities in the wake of deadly attacks in the Karim-Lamido Local Government Area.
Nyameh’s call for action follows assaults on Binnari village and surrounding areas that reportedly resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries among residents. He characterized the violence as both tragic and regrettable, highlighting the significant loss of life, property destruction, and suffering inflicted upon the local population.
In a statement released on Monday, Nyameh called on Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas to visit the affected communities. He emphasized the importance of expressing condolences to grieving families, assessing damage, and coordinating the immediate provision of relief supplies and assistance to victims.
He further implored security forces to intensify their operations in the region to apprehend those responsible for the violence and ensure they face justice.
“The security challenges confronting residents of Karim-Lamido and other parts of Taraba require urgent attention,” Nyameh said. “The protection of lives and property should not be concentrated in the state capital, Jalingo.”
He asserted that peace is essential not only in Karim-Lamido but throughout Taraba State, adding that every life is valuable, regardless of where individuals reside.
Nyameh maintained that sustainable peace could only be achieved if residents of Binnari, Karim-Lamido, and other communities can engage safely in their daily activities without fear of attack.
He called for collaboration among government officials, community leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders to effectively address the ongoing security challenges in the state.
Nyameh warned against allowing the affected communities to shoulder the repercussions of violence without adequate government intervention, insisting that urgent and coordinated action is essential to protect residents and prevent further loss of life.
