Kano govt warns civil servants against violation of service rules

Government Warns Civil Servants on Adherence to Professional Standards
The Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, issued a statement on Monday emphasizing the need for discipline and professionalism within the public service sector. The statement was released by the Office of the Head of Service and signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Rukayya Uba Sulaiman.
Maimota outlined that the government will not tolerate actions that compromise the integrity of the public service. “Every civil servant is expected to perform their duties according to established procedures and ethical standards,” she stated. She underscored that these regulations apply to all employees, regardless of rank or position.
The Head of Service noted that strict compliance with these rules is essential for fostering accountability and effective service delivery across government offices. She urged permanent secretaries, directors, and departmental heads to enhance their supervision and ensure that their teams uphold high standards of conduct.
Promoting discipline and integrity, according to Maimota, is crucial for improving operational efficiency, building public confidence, and supporting the state government’s goal of providing better services to residents. She also encouraged civil servants to familiarize themselves with relevant regulations and ensure that their professional conduct reflects a commitment to responsibility.
