Kebbi Head of Service threatens sanctions over violation of official working hours

Kebbi State Head of Service Issues Warning on Punctuality
The Kebbi State Head of Service, Malami Shekare, has issued a stern warning to civil servants regarding habitual lateness and announced potential disciplinary measures for those who do not adhere to official working hours.
Shekare made the announcement on Monday during a monitoring exercise at the state secretariat in Birnin Kebbi. He inspected the arrival times of workers alongside several permanent secretaries.
During the inspection, Shekare expressed his dissatisfaction with the late arrival of some employees, including senior officers, who failed to report to work on time. He emphasized that punctuality is a fundamental responsibility for all public servants, irrespective of their rank or position.
The Head of Service stressed that the government will not tolerate indiscipline that hampers productivity and effective service delivery. He urged all workers to comply with official working hours and public service regulations, stating that no individual, regardless of seniority, would be exempt from disciplinary action for lateness.
