‘No successful person wants to retire in Nigeria’ — Blaqbonez

Rapper Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez, expressed his views on the challenges facing Nigeria during a recent appearance on The Zeze Millz Show. He characterized the nation as “hectic” and noted that his experiences abroad have highlighted the areas in which Nigeria needs significant improvement.

“Nigeria is hectic, but it is still home,” Blaqbonez said. “When you go to other countries, you realize how far we are from where we should be.”

During the interview, Blaqbonez also shared insights regarding his retirement plans. He indicated difficulty in envisioning successful individuals choosing to remain in Nigeria after departing from active work.

“I don’t think that there is any successful person who wants to live in Nigeria after retirement,” he stated, although he acknowledged that some may feel differently.

Additionally, Blaqbonez outlined his personal vision for retirement, which includes living on a large ranch and raising animals—a lifestyle he feels is not representative of Nigeria.
