NPFL: Rangers turn focus to Rivers United after CAF Champions League exit

Rangers International is now turning its attention to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as they prepare for their Matchday 11 fixture against Rivers United, following their recent exit from the CAF Champions League.
The Enugu-based team was eliminated from the continental competition after a 3-2 aggregate loss to the Algerian side MC Alger. With their international campaign concluded, Rangers will focus on domestic objectives, notably the upcoming match at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Under the leadership of Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, the team aims to recover from their setback and improve their standing in pursuit of the NPFL title. Rangers highlighted their commitment to the next match through a post on their official X account, stating, “Focus shifts to the next battle! ⚔️🔴⚪️ We travel to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United FC in our next NPFL fixture. The quest for those crucial three points continues. 🦅💪”
Currently, Rivers United sits at the top of the NPFL standings with 17 points from 10 matches. Rangers also have 17 points but have played two fewer games this season.
