APC Chairman Questions Atiku’s Accomplishments in Plateau State

JOS, Plateau State — Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has challenged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to identify any significant development project worth N10 billion in Plateau State during his tenure.

Yilwatda made the remarks on Wednesday at the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement event in Jos while rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

“During his eight years as vice president, what exactly did Atiku accomplish for Plateau?” Yilwatda asked the crowd. “Can he name even one road or significant project? The best we had were boreholes or ‘Keke Napep’ riders. Today, however, the president is initiating major projects in our region.”

Yilwatda highlighted a university and a Federal Medical Centre as examples of initiatives linked to Tinubu’s administration, asserting that the president has made strides in addressing healthcare, education, infrastructure, and security challenges.

He further noted that insecurity remains the primary concern for residents of Plateau State. “If you ask anyone from Plateau what their biggest issue is, they will tell you it’s insecurity. The president has taken steps to tackle this problem,” he stated.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang also spoke at the event, urging residents to support Tinubu’s re-election bid. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the current power-sharing agreement between northern and southern Nigeria.

“There’s no reason to disrupt the power-sharing formula we’ve established; the south should be allowed to complete eight years now that the north has already had theirs,” Mutfwang said. “President Buhari served eight years for the north, and similarly, the south should have the opportunity to do the same.”

He encouraged Nigerians to be patient and allow Tinubu’s economic policies to yield results, describing the president as a “good driver” who should not be replaced at this time.
