Oyinlomo Diamond raises alarm over BBO’s silence since Toluwanisings’ death

Nigerian singer Abimbola Olayemi, known professionally as Oyinlomo Diamond, has raised concerns regarding her colleague BBO’s prolonged silence following the death of fellow gospel artist Toluwanisings.

Toluwanisings passed away on October 14, 2023, after collapsing at his home. His unexpected death sent shockwaves through the music community and sparked widespread reaction on social media. Many who attended a concert with him just hours before the incident expressed disbelief at the news.

Since the tragedy, BBO, who was a close friend of Toluwanisings, has not been active online or seen in public. He attended a tribute event for the late artist on Tuesday but covered his face to avoid being recognized and chose not to speak to the media.

In response to BBO’s absence, Oyinlomo Diamond shared her concerns in an Instagram post on Wednesday. She articulated her worries about BBO’s quietness during this difficult time. “I hope you know we can’t afford to lose you too,” she wrote. “I understand this silence. I love how genuine you are even in death. I love how you didn’t chase clout with his death.”

She also encouraged BBO to take time for self-reflection and rest, acknowledging the impact of Toluwanisings’ sudden passing on the perspectives of young artists. “Don’t be in a position where your health will demand too much from you because of overthinking. Remember, his immediate family needs you now more than before,” she added.
