YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul is set to return to the ring on December 24 in Dubai, following a year marked by injury and recovery. The 29-year-old fighter’s opponent has yet to be announced.
This upcoming match will mark Paul’s first bout since his sixth-round knockout loss to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami on December 19 of last year. During that match, Paul suffered a fractured jaw in two places, necessitating multiple surgeries later that month and in February.
“I have spent years proving people wrong, taking risks, and pushing myself against opponents nobody thought I would face,” Paul stated. “Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward. I am hungrier than ever, and on December 24 I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey.”
Paul currently holds a professional boxing record of 12 wins and 2 losses, with his only defeats coming against Britain’s Tommy Fury and Joshua. He previously fought Mike Tyson in an exhibition match, which he won by unanimous decision, though the event faced criticism for its legitimacy.
The announcement of Paul’s next opponent is anticipated to come soon, as he suggested there are “plenty of names on the list” awaiting contracts.
