Pastor Adeboye clears air on carrying placard against ex-President Jonathan

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has addressed recent allegations regarding his involvement in protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan. Speaking at the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye denied claims that he participated in any demonstrations directed at Jonathan’s administration.

Adeboye clarified that what some have interpreted as a protest was, in fact, a prayer walk and march aimed at advocating for an end to corruption in Nigeria, rather than a demonstration against the former president. He emphasized his commitment as a man of God to the welfare of the nation and expressed his willingness to support peaceful initiatives that promote righteousness and good governance.

“I did not carry any placard against Jonathan. What we did was a march against corruption,” Adeboye stated. He further asserted, “I have never protested against any government. My own is to pray for those in authority.”
