Accidents claims two lives in Aba, injure others

Two individuals died in separate road accidents in Aba, Abia State, over the weekend.

The first incident occurred on Friday at the Osisioma Flyover junction, where a truck collided with a shop. One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while approximately six others sustained injuries. An eyewitness reported that the truck, loaded with goods, was traveling at a high speed when it lost control and crashed into the busy area, striking both traders and pedestrians. The injured individuals were transported to a hospital for urgent medical care.

Authorities have not yet determined whether the crash was due to reckless driving or possible brake failure. CC Ngozi Ezeoma, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for Abia State, confirmed the accident and identified the deceased as a male adult.

In a separate incident on Sunday morning, a man lost his life on Port Harcourt Road in Aba. The man, reportedly on his way to church, was struck from behind by a motorcycle traveling at high speed. The circumstances surrounding this accident remain under investigation.
