Oyebanji swears in three commissioners, 10 special advisers

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has emphasized that his administration will prioritize discipline, integrity, and swift service delivery, asserting that he will not tolerate any form of misconduct from his appointees. This statement comes in the wake of a swearing-in ceremony held at the Osuntokun Pavilion in Government House, Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking after the ceremony, Oyebanji indicated that the appointments reflect his administration’s commitment to a prompt start to its second term. He noted that this period should not be marked by complacency but instead viewed as an opportunity to enhance governance and fulfill electoral promises.

The governor called on the newly appointed officials to justify the confidence placed in them by working diligently and achieving exceptional results within their roles. He urged them to uphold the highest standards of technical competence, transparency, and professionalism in all administrative processes and projects within their ministries, departments, and agencies, while adhering to global best practices.

“This event signifies our determination to initiate this administration’s work without further delay,” Oyebanji said. “A second term is not a time for complacency or self-indulgence. Your continued service reflects my confidence in your abilities and your past performance.”

Oyebanji warned the appointees against arrogance, advising them to remain humble and committed to their responsibilities. “I will not be patient or tolerant of any indiscipline, unethical conduct, or corruption,” he stated, emphasizing the need for hard work to turn electoral promises into tangible benefits for the citizens.

Representing the newly sworn-in cabinet members, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Dayo Apata (SAN) affirmed their dedication to honesty, impartiality, and transparency in their roles. He characterized their appointments as a call to service, highlighting the collective responsibility to collaborate with the government in realizing its development agenda.

Apata acknowledged the governor’s aim to leave enduring legacies benefiting Ekiti State, describing public office as a trust rather than a commercial enterprise. He assured the citizens and the governor of the commissioners’ commitment to serve with integrity and diligence as they work to translate the administration’s vision into actionable results.

Following the swearing-in, the commissioners and special advisers took oaths of secrecy in the Executive Council Chambers before proceeding to their first Executive Council meeting.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye, Secretary to the State Government Habibat Adubiaro, Head of Service Folakemi Olomojobi, as well as members of the State House of Assembly, the Executive Council, traditional rulers, community leaders, and family members.
