2026 U-17 WWC final: Busari keeps Flamingos grounded before Japan clash, makes demand

Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari has emphasized the importance of focus as his team prepares to compete against Japan in the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final. The match is scheduled for today at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Morocco.
Nigeria has made history by becoming the first African team to reach the U-17 Women’s World Cup final. However, Busari is urging his squad to remain grounded, stating that “the job is not yet done.” Their opponents, Japan, advanced to the final after a penalty shootout victory over North Korea.
In a pre-match interview, Busari expressed his desire for the Flamingos to finish strong, saying, “It is just for us to concentrate; let’s put the icing on the cake.” The message is clear: while they have achieved a significant milestone, the team’s ultimate goal remains within reach.
