Lagos Police Decorates Newly Promoted Assistant Superintendents

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, has officially decorated newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) and called on them to enhance professionalism, discipline, and service delivery within the Nigerian Police Force.

The decoration ceremony took place on Monday at the command headquarters in Ikeja. Jimoh emphasized that the promotions resulted from merit, dedication, and outstanding performance. He urged the officers to view their new ranks as a recognition of their achievements and a call to increased responsibility.

“This advancement reflects your hard work and commitment to duty,” Jimoh stated. “I expect you to remain steadfast in serving the police institution and the nation with integrity.”

Additionally, the commissioner praised Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun for approving the promotion of 1,848 inspectors nationwide to the rank of ASP. Jimoh assured police leadership that the newly promoted officers would be strategically deployed across key operational and administrative units to enhance public safety and service delivery throughout the state.

“The new rank comes with heightened expectations,” he added, urging the officers to exhibit leadership, efficiency, and discipline while fostering teamwork within the command.

Jimoh highlighted the collective goal of improved service delivery and enhanced protection for vulnerable members of society. He stated that the promotions recognize past contributions and reflect confidence in the officers’ capacity to further contribute to policing reforms and professional standards in Lagos State.

Several newly decorated ASPs expressed their gratitude for the promotions and pledged a renewed commitment to their duties. One officer remarked that the elevation entails greater responsibility and promised to exceed expectations in both operational and administrative roles. Others echoed this sentiment, viewing the promotion as a privilege and an opportunity to positively influence the force.
