Ramadan: Cristiano Ronaldo stopped fasting after only two days – Sharahili

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Ramadan Fasting Attempt Challenged, Says Former Al-Nassr Player

Former Al-Nassr player Shaye Sharahili revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to observe the Ramadan fast last year but struggled to maintain it after two days. Sharahili expressed that playing football while fasting poses challenges for many athletes, particularly foreign players who may not be accustomed to the changes in their daily routines.

In an interview with Thmanyah Sports, the 41-year-old shared his personal experiences during Ramadan. “Playing during Ramadan isn’t simple,” he stated. “There are some players who handle it well, and I was one of them. It seems harder for foreign players because they aren’t used to it, and it’s difficult for them to stick to their daily routines, which include food, sleep, and other essential habits.”

Sharahili noted that Ronaldo’s brief fasting attempt highlighted the challenges faced by athletes during this period. “Cristiano Ronaldo tried fasting for two days during Ramadan, but he found it really challenging,” he said.

Since moving to Saudi Arabia three years ago, Ronaldo has embraced life in the region, participating in various activities. Several of his Muslim teammates have indicated that his commitment serves as an inspiration for them to strengthen their faith.

Ronaldo’s presence in the Saudi league has attracted significant attention and contributed to the country’s successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. He remains contracted with Al-Nassr until 2027 after signing a new agreement last summer.
