Renewed Clashes in Adamawa State Leave Two Dead

LAMURDE, Adamawa State — Renewed violence between the Chobo and Bachaman communities in Lamurde Local Government Area has resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

Suleiman Nguroje, spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, reported that the conflict began on Saturday night. He stated that Chobo youths allegedly entered Lamurde town and began firing indiscriminately, which prompted local youths from the Bachaman community to confront them.

In response to the escalating situation, heavily armed police units have been deployed to the area to restore order among the affected communities. Nguroje indicated that the command is still awaiting a comprehensive casualty report, but affirmed that any updates will be communicated promptly.

The two victims were reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday while en route to church.
