Teachers, students escape death as four-storey school building collapses in Lagos

OGBA, Lagos – Students and teachers at a local school narrowly avoided disaster on Monday when a four-story building collapsed shortly after they had evacuated the premises.
The incident occurred around noon at the school located on Adudatu Street, near County Hospital in the Aguda area of Ogba. Witnesses reported that the building crumbled less than three minutes after students and staff were moved to safety.
As of this report, the cause of the collapse remains unknown. This incident adds to a troubling trend of building failures in Lagos, where concerns over structural integrity have been increasingly prevalent.
