Six Kidnapped in Kwara State Incident
Kwara State authorities are investigating a kidnapping that occurred Sunday evening along the Shagba-Babanla road in the Igbaja Division of Ifelodun Local Government Area. At approximately 7:15 PM, armed assailants abducted six individuals traveling from Oke-Ode to Babanla, according to local security sources.
The victims have been identified as Wasiu Wahabi, Gani, Abdulateef Meco, and Alhaji Sarafa Raheem, the Chief Imam of Babanla. The identities of the other two victims have not been confirmed, but reports suggest that a Bororo man may be among them.
The incident has raised alarm among residents, who report heightened fear and tension within the Babanla community. Witnesses describe the gunmen arriving unexpectedly and operating in the area for several minutes before fleeing with their captives.
Local community members have voiced deep concerns about the ongoing security challenges in the region, urging security agencies to act swiftly to ensure the victims’ safe return and restore peace.
