Opposition politicians denying me credit for roads I constructed not true Igbos — Gov Otti

Abia State Governor Focuses on Infrastructure Amid Opposition Criticism

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing development projects, asserting that increased productivity is the most effective response to opposition criticism.

During a reception for Attorney-General Ikechukwu Uwanna in Isuikwuato on Saturday, Otti addressed allegations suggesting that various road projects initiated by his administration were attributable to previous governments. He challenged those making such claims, suggesting they might not truly represent the values of the Igbo people.

“You cannot overlook a road that was built and claim it was not done,” Otti remarked. “If you credit someone else for this work, you are not an Igbo man. Our response to this is to continue our work.”

The governor voiced concern over what he characterized as deceptive narratives propagated by opposition members, particularly regarding ongoing and completed projects. He emphasized a commitment to serving the people of Abia, declaring, “One thing you can be sure of is that this is your government.”

Otti also expressed gratitude to former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for publicly supporting his administration’s achievements in the state.

Ogah, speaking earlier at the event, announced his intention to support the re-election of Governor Otti, emphasizing his backing despite his political affiliation with the APC.

Otti described Uwanna as a crucial component of his administration, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration in achieving the state’s developmental goals.
