Drone sparks fire at UAE oil site as Gulf takes more hits amid Iran war | US-Israel war on Iran News

Drone Strike Hits Fujairah Oil Hub Amid Ongoing Regional Tensions

Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) — A drone strike at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone has ignited a fire, as Iranian drone attacks on Gulf countries intensify amid ongoing U.S.-Israeli military operations in the region. The incident occurred late Tuesday, approximately 150 kilometers east of Dubai.

Officials from the Fujairah government reported that there were no casualties resulting from the attack on the energy facility. This incident follows another fire at the same oil hub over the weekend, which was triggered by falling debris during a drone interception.

Separate reports from Abu Dhabi noted an incident involving debris from a ballistic missile interception that resulted in the death of a Pakistani national in the Baniyas area.

In response to the escalated threats, the UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that air defense systems have been actively repelling incoming missiles and drones, causing significant noise disturbances and a temporary closure of the country’s airspace.

Iran has defended its campaign against Gulf nations, citing the presence of U.S. military bases as a justification for its attacks. This surge in aggression comes after the U.S. and Israel conducted joint airstrikes on Tehran on February 28, prompting a series of retaliatory measures.

The UAE has faced the brunt of these assaults, with reports indicating that Iran has launched over 1,800 missiles and drones towards the UAE, more than any other target in the ongoing conflict. Overall, Gulf Arab states have recorded more than 2,000 missile and drone attacks since the start of hostilities.

On Tuesday, neighboring countries also reported incidents linked to drone and missile threats. Qatar’s Ministry of Interior addressed a “limited fire” in an industrial area caused by shrapnel from an intercepted missile; fortunately, no injuries were reported.

In Saudi Arabia, military officials confirmed the interception and destruction of two drones in the eastern region, while an additional six drones were successfully neutralized earlier in the day. Kuwait’s National Guard also announced the interception of two drones, though details regarding the targets were not disclosed.

In a collective response, Gulf Cooperation Council countries condemned the recent Iranian attacks and vowed to bolster their defense capabilities.
