Ogun State Appoints Six New Permanent Secretaries

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries, a move announced on Friday by the Head of Service, Iskeel Saka.

The appointments are intended to fill vacancies left by the statutory retirement of previous Permanent Secretaries, Saka said. The new appointees are Dr. Solomon Oluseyi Sokunbi, Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye Akinwunmi, Mr. Adedeji Akanbi Sowunmi, Mr. Olumide Olusola Ogunbo, Mr. Dolamu Isaiah Idowu-Agida, and Tpl. Musinat Abiola Ayodele.

Saka noted that the appointments comply with Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution and reflect a careful consideration of merit, professionalism, and inclusivity. Each appointee has successfully completed the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme, a prerequisite for leadership roles within the state’s civil service, including the office of Permanent Secretary.

These appointments align with Governor Abiodun’s commitment to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of the state’s civil service. Saka further emphasized that the new Permanent Secretaries are expected to exhibit exemplary leadership, integrity, and dedication in their responsibilities.

The appointed officials will play crucial roles in the ongoing reforms of the Ogun State civil service, aimed at improving service delivery for the state’s residents.

The inauguration of the new Permanent Secretaries will be scheduled at a later date, according to the statement.
