The event brought together representatives from various interest groups to discuss traditional matters, governance, and economic prospects for the district.
Addressing the importance of the Awujale institution to the cultural heritage and unity of Ijebuland, Abiodun urged the community to remain calm as the succession procedures unfold. He emphasized that his administration is dedicated to ensuring peaceful transitions and garnering community support for the new monarch.

The stakeholders meeting was aimed at enhancing dialogue between the government and residents while allowing various groups to voice their opinions and acknowledge the achievements of the administration over the past seven years.
Turning to economic development, the governor highlighted significant potential for growth in Ogun East, attributed to new oil exploration activities and the proposed Gateway Deep-Sea Port in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area. He indicated that the discovery of crude oil near Eba Island and plans for the deep-sea port could transform the district’s economic landscape by attracting investment and creating jobs.
“Projects like the Gateway Deep-Sea Port, along with the proposed Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, are poised to elevate Ogun State as a prime destination for industrial investment and maritime business,” Abiodun said. He added that the developments are expected to stimulate economic activities not only in Ogun East but statewide.
The governor reiterated his commitment to infrastructure development and investment promotion, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts among government entities, traditional leadership, communities, and the private sector to realize the state’s developmental goals.
Abiodun also acknowledged the Federal Government’s support for infrastructure projects in Ogun State, expressing gratitude for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s collaboration with his administration. He called for ongoing partnerships between state and federal governments to advance major initiatives and unlock Ogun’s economic potential.
During the meeting, various stakeholders, including market vendors, hunters, and local leaders, commended the governor for fostering grassroots engagement and providing a platform for open dialogue about local issues. They viewed the meeting as an essential means of enhancing communication and understanding between the government and citizens.
The attendees expressed their support for the administration’s developmental projects and pledged to mobilize constituents for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates in the upcoming general elections.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the Awujale succession process, infrastructure development, and future opportunities for Ogun East. The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaboration with stakeholders to promote peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in the district.
